Australian Policies -- from 2025 Federal election

Tassies issue is there are not many talented politicians on either side. and whoever wins ts usually a small margin.
It ends up with a few people holding multiple portfolios.

Michelle O’Byrne not contesting next election had enough of the workplace.

Bridget Archer will be for Liberals though which is good.

just got tagged in a stadium thread, people still whingeing about whether to go ahead or not.

some people think not building the stadium will fix everything else, it won’t.

July 19 election for Tassie

Labor’s Mr Winter ruled out forming a minority government with the Greens

Are there enough independents who might be able to get Labor over the line?

I assume they’re not going to go from 10 to 18 seats to claim a majority on their own.

No need for hyperbole!

Genghis was very efficient, and knew how to get things done.

He conquered half the known world at the time to achieve the largest contiguous empire ever.

Morrison achieved… umm… well, he pinched a few portfolios off his colleagues when they weren’t watching. Anything else?

It’s true, Genghis was a remarkable figure. Scotty is a burst pimple.

As for the Tassie thing I wonder if Rebecca has any regrets? She probably would’ve snatched this one and might’ve been a decent Premier. Farking sick of hearing how embarrassed sports people who don’t live there are, give up your huge salaries and go back to work in grass roots then. Fagan should be ashamed of the industry he works for.

Good point BA, but with all due respect that statistic doesn’t consider age demographic or reason for suicide.

He’s famous for making the trains run on time, isn’t he?

The Victorian Coroner annual reports include stats by age and metro/regional.
There could be more detail in the Coroner’s individual reports.

Yep. Camel trains on the Great Silk Road never skipped a beat.

I like to think of Scotty as a burst haemorrhoid.

Moira deeming. classic liberal , nasty piece of work .
this is the character type profile of nasty that will ensure they never see the light of day at federal level ever again . unless they change their image they might yet struggle in Victoria , which would seem to be like shooting fish in a barrel . can they possibly find yet another way to not get back into power in Victoria ?

She will be State Liberal Leader one day.

NSFW, I hope this doesn’t cause too many conniptions here. The Hun reportedly had several staff go into panic attacks and there was vomit everywhere.

I really do not get the hate for Albo, Dan, ScoMo, Abbott etc. They all do their job, some better than others and move on with their life. Dan made correct decisions at the time and there were always going to be consequences, with the benefit of hindsight, decisions may have been different.

No reason the hate any of them.

Luxury lunch?

That doesn’t look like THE ROYAL.

Hate what they represent, which in the Abbott/Scummo case is all sorts of repugnant things, not least their respective deceptions of the voting public that they put governance for all before their religion. People seem to viscerally hate Dan for the lockdowns, but also because he looks like a nerd and did successive LNP frauds like turkey dinners. Albo has had a mandate and shelved it, he is effectively Turnbull as has been pointed out in some media recently.

I just posted that because I knew how much some here have those two blokes living in their heads on fancy junkets.

As noted before, Andrews should have been out on his arse the instant he plead ignorance on matters that he was literally being paid to know and oversee. That he threw others under the bus in order to dodge his own failure of responsibility just adds to my contempt.

Mind you, his flat out hypocrisy around East/West link and North East Link (and various other matters) had already set my opinion of him and his government. And the current government with its blatant tax grabs continues to ■■■■ me off

Albo , I have no dislike of at all. So far. Reckon he’s ok in his own right .

I don’t give a fark about hating Government policy or even its actions, but this hate is personal and is just ridiculous. Just because ScoMo, didn’t hold a hose, which was not his job, he is ridiculed.

Second lesson I learnt in politics was never to take anything personally.

What part of ‘what they represent’ are you missing here? Or are you talking about others?

I guess most people aren’t in politics, just under it. It’s probably a very different feeling.

No-one can know everything, and while I didn’t like the bloke, I have no reason to doubt his honesty.

Dan threw many under the bus because he hates incompetence and laziness. In my experience nothing at all to do with a failure to accept responsibility. Dan is just a mean kcunt, and if he didn’t like you, you were done. He doesn’t care what anyone thinks about him.

I am not sure there was an hypocrisy around either project. I reckon though that the Government was too hasty to cut the East/West link.

Tax grab to you is income sourcing to me. Government is damned if they do, needing more money to build infrastructure and programs, but needing to raise taxes, and damned if they don’t, like the wasted three years of Bailleu Government.

I have said many times that Dan was easily the best Premier this State has ever had.
