Albanese has stated a personal belief that it was a terrorist attack. The Feds and Vic cops are working their way through it to identify the attackers.
I know there was a pilot project a few years ago between a water heater company and the SA government. In times of excess solar production, the grid could talk to water heaters and crank up the temp a few degrees higher than factory set point. In times of excess demand, they could hold off a heat cycle of there was enough hot water capacity in a tank.
How does the grid talk to gas water heater, and realistically how to most electric systems that have no interface ? The costs of connecting would be a bit large.
I did , and it is a nonsense to suggest that households will change hot water supply unless it is free or very heavily subsidised. These new systems allegedly becoming available will need to be cheap to buy and to run.
Do you really think consumer will want to allow outside control ?
Josh has showed terrific leadership on this unfortunate situation. He has dragged the PM begrudgingly to label it, correctly, as an act of terror. The PM was caught on his back heels again. Feeds the narrative further that he’s weak and slow to respond when needed.
This is good for the environment and all, but if Fortescue are choosing to go down this path, They are a profitable company why are the aussie taxpayers footing some of the bill.
