Australian Policies -- from October 2024

Your first point, And you too…
Your second point, that’s what most of the left all say.

do you realize trying to paint “most of the left” as some homogenous barrel of identical opinions is the exact same behavior that you’re complaining about?

Im happy to bring back tax policies from the sixties and seventies. At least then we could afford more stuff for the nation.

The voice wasn’t identity politics . Sorry I see why people think it was , but it was about providing a significantly disadvantaged group of Australians that have suffered systematic issues for over the past 200 years with an opportunity to have a say ( that’s all it was , just a say) on legislation that directly affected them, like say the territory intervention (which is most definitely politics based on people’s identity), or the how indigenous health clinics (which already exist) are administered.

But the populous squealed like selfish brats and said no not fair! Me me me!

Also it was alp policy prior to the election so all they were doing was fulfilling their promise.

Not a greedy bone in my body. I vote Labor because it is best available solution for working Australians, which is my heritage.

Majority of Australians are greedy racists so you fit in well.

Yep. If the government (any government) wants to have a good and proper conversation about increasing taxes if it means it funds things like health, education and economic productivity then I’m ok with that. Issue is, it never succeeds because the opposition / media twist it and play politics and many of the population act in self interest and that means they’d rather not pay more tax unless there’s an obvious personal benefit.

You heard the man, Victoria, tax those properties!

So it’s actually not identity politics by the ALP but rather a distortion of the reporting of issues and policies by vested interests.

Glad we can agree finally

Great leadership shown by Minns again in response to more anti semitic attacks with graffiti and attempted arson attack on a synagogue in Sydney. Minns really is a breath of fresh air - wish we had him as Premier in Victoria

Minns actions are no different to any other Leader.

IIRC, Heads of State/Government aren’t automatically invited , they don’t normally attend and are by invitation only ( by the Pres elect).
Ambassadors or their delegates would automatically attend, in line with protocol.

Dan Andrews would’ve issued a firm warning, but certainly not a stern one like Chris. He’s so dreamy, for an ALP type.

Now Dan has a medal from the local Jewish crowd, he would probably string them up by the goolies.
