Australian Policies -- from October 2024

I am on the other hand not on a package:

$50 per hour
plus 17% super

The libs can jam that 9% idea up their clacker

Maybe.

Superannuation replaced a lot of pension funds for prior generations.

Why should today’s sacrifice theirs.

And it’s beside the point. Housing shouldn’t be out performing equity markets and infrastructure that funds invest in.

You don’t see yanks using their 401s to buy a home.

In Australia the property market has outperformed the stock market over the last 20 years

thats the problem

that old chestnut the liberal supporters use when they get caught up. look how when albo got in and had to attend a few world conferences how they were so quick to call him airbus albo. just pathetic .

It’s now Tennis Albo or Each Way Albo ….Airbus Albo is so 2023

There is a big problem with housing and property affordability in Australia. The answer is more housing - pure and simple

and Bridget McKenzie today was asked directly about how to the governments of the world should go about rebuilding Gaza.
for a start that’s should be israels job.
she didn’t even answer that question and went off on a rant about the fact that hamas started it
just a pathetic human being

Is she one of Duttons 4 that want the foreign ministers job if the Libs win?

:skull:

you simply won’t solve that by cutting imigration for starters . we need more population especially considering howaby building tradss and big construction and infrastructure projects will start around the Olympics in the next few years . we need thousands if not 10’s of thousand workers and associated workers in the construction industry .
they won’t appear from thin air

Half the problem is that Australia is woefully unproductive in terms of construction.

From homes to roads and stadiums.

I agree we need a broader construction workforce. It doesn’t seem to be how the immigration policy works though.

If the desire was to still have 250k+ people come in every year.

Well if most of them were in construction one thing wouldn’t cost as much.

Ahem construction.

and while we have the current opposition we have it will never change as they always fall back to fear of foreigners as a vote catcher . it’s pathetic

That’s not how it works.

Employers have to pay 10 and soon 12.5%.

So the packaged employee will just get an effective “higher package “

Your just talking about advertising.

Typically a salary package is advertised because it includes other benefits like cars/travel allowances etc.

I’m not, I’m quoting an example of a friend I work with.

Yeah right. Well maybe you can.

I’ve never had that written into any employment contract I’ve signed.

It struck me as odd too. It’s a University workplace bargain thing.
