I did the vote radar thing a while ago and was disappointed in it this year to be honest. I think the questions were poorly designed and too few, grouping all the indies together was a big mistake (there’s just a bit of difference between Haines, Ryan, Cheney, Dai Le, Katter, and Wilkie, for instance), and the headlining ‘radar’ plot simply didn’t match up with the policy preference numbers a bit further down the page. And I’m a bit suss about the statistical model. I played around with it a bit and I think the only way you can get yourself located close to the ‘fringe’ parties (Greens, ONP etc) on the radar plot is to almost select their entire policy platform. Even a couple of disagreements drags you back to the centre fast. I think there’s been some over-heavy result weighting going on.

This is gonna be a LOOONNNGGGGG farking month. The ads on the free to air “catch-up” channels are just a fire-hosing of anti-Albanese propaganda, along with ads trying to sell Towball Dutton as a cuddly, responsible, family guy & man of the people. Labor and Albanese advertising is nowhere to be seen.

I don’t watch “live” TV or read the newspapers so don’t know whether this is the norm. Is it?

Where is Labor’s advertising?

Yep…just about every ad I’m getting on Youtube at present is for Trumpet of Patriots.

(a Gold Coast based bunch of morons who live in @Nexta’s basement)

News poll 52-48 ALP it’s all over before it began.

A boring election contest but enough people can’t/wont vote for Dutton and his temu trump style.

If it wasn’t for inflation it wouldn’t have been close.

Can we stop all the ads then?

Don’t watch TV and you’ll get no adds

Every third fkn ad during the footy on Kayo.

Which I guess is kind of ironic. It’s taking space normally used by gambling ads.

I feel almost certain now Dutton won’t be prime minister . in a hung parliament situation he will need to deal with both the teals and the greens and he’s not capable of that , plus they mostly all hate his guts . all this negative stuff around trump won’t help him now in the areas he needs to win it at least make strong gains . as this campaign goes on the focus will be on spending and he can’t justify his nuclear fantasy .
had he not jumped into that so enthusiastically a year ago I think he could have won this election on cost of living rhetoric alone . having the most expensive single policy in Australian history that is at best contentiobal was a really dumb idea.
if Labor gets another term they might even get 2, as interest rates start to tumble in part due the chaos of trump
