The Liberal candidate for the inner Melbourne seat of Wills pleaded guilty to obtaining financial advantage by deception and was ordered to pay fines and compensation worth more than $10,000.
Jeffrey Kidney, who lives in the suburb of Boronia, pleaded guilty in March 2024 to the charge and was ordered to pay $10,640 in compensation to the Victorian Work Cover authority. Kidneyâs breach occurred between May and October 2019.
When asked at a press conference in Melbourne earlier today whether he supported Kidneyâs candidacy, Peter Dutton promoted the quality of his candidates and refused to engage with the substance of the question.
Dutton then suggested Anthony Albanese could be convicted in court for deceiving the Australian people.

Yes. I just wish that Albo would have a reshuffle and give Warmonger Marles a different portfolio, such as Trade & Tourism, Small Business, or Resources. Maybe even do a straight swap with Catherine Kingâs portfolio, Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government.
