Australian Policies -- from October 2024

But Protesters do to get the point across.

May be annoying and inconvenient but our Society allows them that right.

But then we will circle back to the original point. It ruins the message.

Look at the ones who crashed carols last year, the response was one mostly of anger not “oh, they’ve got a point, i guess ill stop singing and go home”.

Absolutely no-one would be calling you a bad person for enjoying Xmas. You have zero basis to consider that anyone would.
You are trying to make non-existent connections.

Abit late on this one. The damage is already done.

It’s a sad “like” from me.

Its kind of sad (and dangerous) I think that it just happens that large jewish populations exist in strong LNP seats and large islamic populations exist in ALP seats.

I dont think faith has anything to do with voting intentions in those electorates either(rather large recent islamic migration coincides with a working class vote and a lot of Jewish migrants are the wealthy who could escape WW2 and their descendants)

But it needlessly politicises Israeli/Palestine discussions in Australia.

Its just not helpful.

Honestly imho they could perhaps look at approving more mosques in LNP seats and synagogues in ALP areas.

Anyone interrupting that atrocity deserves a Nobel Peace prize

All that singing and poncing about completely ruin xmas eve.

Why is there no Israel thread? Did I miss a blitz censorship scandal?

Those that like it deserve to be able to go. those that don’t, there’s a million other things you can watch on tv these days. Not sure how it ruins christmas.

So those who do enjoy it should have it ruined because you don’t liķe it?

who knows 1000’s years of history.

And criticized by Dutton even quicker.

We celebrate Hanukkah and Christmas. We reflect on how fortunate we are and equally we think of those less fortunate both here and overseas. We also contribute to a number of charities. We also hope for peace in the Middle East and Ukraine because war is a horrible thing. Some of these conflicts are multi generational but geese it all needs to end somehow - please

Edit: I enjoy the Christmas windows and can’t wait to take my daughter when she’s old enough. Plenty of places for the protesters to protest. I’d hope they’d rethink doing it near the kids and families - but I also understand they’re trying to get maximum impact for their cause.

You can imagine how people like Pauline will be supportive of this suggestion.

In Melbourne the largest Jewish population lives in an ALP seat and the next largest is a Teal seat (formerly LNP). In Sydney the largest Jewish population lives in a Teal seat
