Bathurst 2015

Qualifying ended virtually as it began, when defending champion Chaz Mostert shortened the car in the Dipper.

Mostert has suffered a broken upper leg and a broken wrist.

Earlier in the day, Whincup created a new lap record at 2.04.9.

Further to the above, 5 flag marshals, who despite being in a safety hut, got hit by the car as above. One is in hospital.

Sickening crash. Glad everyone is relatively ok.

Weird spot to go in. Don’t think I’ve seen anyone clip that wall before

Nasty crash!

Wow, that is one very, very nasty crash by Flack. Broken ribs and a punctured lung.

Bomber nut Craig Lowndes wins again.

Lowndesy has now won 6 Bathurst 1000s, equalling Mark Skaife and Larry Perkins. Only Jim Richards and Peter Brock have won more. Jim’s son Steven was the co-driver. His tally is now 4 Bathurst victories.

In 2nd was V8 Supercar championship leader Mark Winterbottom and his co-driver Steve owen, with Holden Racing Team’s Garth Tander and Warren Luff in 3rd.
