Nearly aint good enough though. These cars are that advanced and the data that accurate that they can predict to the nearest 100m as to when the fuel will run out. Surely a mis calculation on someones behalf. Probably only needed another litre or so to make itnah they took a gamble and it nearly paid off

correct, plus the driver also has a say in the strategy, not just his race crew, Whincup was just as much at fault if it failed.
Whincup is a fkhead. If he would have conserved with a 3 second lead with three laps to go, he probably would of made it. You know, just like they were telling him to do. Dont buy the “i was going all out for the win not conserve and get 2nd” bullshit, them blokes are geniuses and if he would have listened, he would have won
