Just working the phones to work out who to take with my last pick.
So my drafting is done for another season. On first reflection I have drafted a lot better than last year - which isn’t saying much as I think I had delisted most of draftees by about Round 5 (two made my end of season keepers).
This year I have focussed on picking youngish players who are likely to get a game. Also I deliberately steered clear of any key position players. The only first year player I picked was Dunkley with pick 59. With 9 of my 10 draftees named in the NAB Cup this weekend I am should have plenty named come Round 1. It will be a little strange having enough players to fill a team at the start of the season - something I have perennially struggled with given my previous preference to recruit based mostly based on potential.
I will run through my thinking on each of my draftees at a later stage.
