Edwards would be fighting for a spot with Kavanagh, Hams, Browne, Dalgleish, Ashby, Aylett, O'Brien.
There's 6-7 midfielder types who will be our next gen midfield following the Jobe-Stanton-Goddard era - just need to get a really good inside mid/clearance machine. Whether by accident or design, this is an excellent list demographic to have.
Our list is shaping up very well - clearly now need to start adding some KP types and a ruck over the next 1-3 years.
After the trade period this is what our best 22 looks like to me:
FB Baguley Carlisle Fletcher
HB Hibberd Hooker Dempsey
C Heppell Watson Goddard
HF Kommer Hurley Winderlich
FF Chapman Daniher Bellchambers
R Ryder Hocking Stanton
Int Zaharakis, Myers, Howlett, Merrett
Unbelievably left out Melksham - put him in for Kommer
yeah i was about to pull you up on that,
hepp starts in the square for mine and if we want a runner starting in the square it should be zaha. i still hold out hope that we are going to flip hurls and jake c
if Kommer is in our best 22 then we are struggling, Merrett is the future I can see similarites to Caracella early in his career. Fletcher plays 10-15 games, (3 weeks for a tripping suspension mid year) and Pears plays the rest at back pocket. Wouldn't mind seeing Steinberg or Van Unen pushing Pears for the Fletcher spot

I agree with this, but Zacka and Goddard switched.

Kommer was best 22 all year. Including when we were 2nd on the ladder.
And Hurley ain't playing defence. Not now.
