I know We’re Not Gonna Take It was first, but this was the one we all knew (and yelled at the screen at the underage disco) the words of the intro to.
Late to this thread, but enjoying a lot of it.
Is A Long Way to the Top valid? How about Smells Like Teen Spirit? Where do you draw the line? Obviously Hendrix at Woodstock wasn’t a video, but if something was created as a video it counts. Of course that can mean it’s generic and uninteresting, or it can capture the very essence of the band and the song.
Anyway Thriller, Take On Me, Nothing Compares 2U all brilliant in their own ways. Not necessarily my preference of music, but great examples of the genre.
Yeah, dunno about ‘GOAT’ - but I love the band
Now that…is just farking insane awesome.
Maybe not the greatest but it was possibly most expensive oz clip at the time.
Banned by the FBI so mtv wouldn’t play it. (Showed Uncle Sam being beaten in Nicaragua)
Probably still the shortest video clip of all time. Very effective though.
SLowed down, warning about some graphic images.
From the same period.
