Every crypto went down by about 10% to 15% in the space of 5 minutes.
I think on the back of a rumour about the ETF news expected to come out.

I’d imagine the prices will recover those losses over the next few days as people realise it’s a bogus rumour.

Is it a bogus rumour?, or is there a reasonable chance that the ETF applications get rejected.
and then crypto plummets.

Majority of crypto has been in a holding pattern since xmas week (roughly).
It’s due for a self correction after the three months it had. This helped it along.
The ETF application approval will drive prices up then they will drop / self correct again shortly after.

If the ETF is approved, price jump is not because of the ETF doing its thing. It won’t for another six months after it is approved. It’s solely on the back of people entering the market without wanting to miss out on the impending boom.

I don’t think the ETF will be rejected. At least not outright. It’s inevitable that crypto ETFs will come along, it’s just a matter of when they are approved. I think it’ll be ‘rejected’ but re-evaluated in three to six months time and help drive the next peak after the bitcoin halving.

How does one call a 16 year cycle when your data extends only about… 16 years?

In 2020 Bitcoins market cap touched $92 Billion.

Yesterday it increased by $93 Billion…in one day.

Bitcoin has doubled 15 times since inception to get to current value, it only has to 4 times to reach $1,000,000 US

And it still has no value at all.

Like every company and commodity .

What the hell do you mean?

Companies produce things which have usefulness that people will pay for.

Bitcoin has a hope that speculators (nearly wrote investors while meaning mugs) will get out with a profit, if not a good windfall. It’s a massive pyramid.
