In answer to your question, we don’t want it to happen, but it is a tactic that is well within the current rules. The solution is not to bring in more rules. No free kicks were paid in those last 2 minutes because there were none to be paid. It isn’t pretty football, but that disappeared with the 1990’s. It is desperate, negating football full of pressure, typical of finals and l can live with that.
