Tippa chase down tackle of Mcintosh, play on, then 5 secs later chase down tackle on Langford, htb
Well, the second one was there. Bizarre. He was in a bit of traffic, he had to expect to get tackled.
The tippa one was a disgrace.
That was paid because the maggot couldn’t see the handball and we don’t pay what we can’t see (except for marks in front of goal).
Actually that was the most blatant example of how one umpire’s bias can affect a decision. For all intents and purposes both players had prior opportunity and both tackles had the same dropping the ball result.
The second one would not have happened if the first one was paid as it should have been.
Just watching the replay and we are often hard done by the umps in our F50. Draper gets punched in the back of the head going up for a mark, no free
Tippa with a brilliant run down tackle and incorrect disposal, no free (Langford then gets the same treatment and they get the free instead).
The Tippa/Langford ones were just gobsmacking
Tippa got hit in back of head when going for mark. It feels like umps have decided to never give him a free
I hate to say it BUT it’s time that each team should be allowed to call for a referral like in cricket .
Now that we’re not just whinging because we lost the game, I’d be very happy if someone compiled a montage of all the poor calls. I haven’t watched the replay, but at the game, it felt rigged.
It’s written into a subsection of the reffing code that any player is allowed to rip Walla’s head off without consequence. If your neck is so strong that your head doesn’t move when hit at speed, then it didn’t get hit at all.
I haven’t watched any of the footy shows today, but I assume no one has mentioned the bounced mark?
I said it in another thread: the current interpretation of holding the ball is dreadful
If there is no prior, you can drop the ball like a hot potato or just sit on it with no penalty
No onus on the player to dispose of it correctly. So many go by that were clear htb in the past
Also, aside from the non mark paid, the call that nade me angriest last night was when Perkins was dumped after a mark and no 50 paid. It was late and hard, absolutely cowardly not to call it by the ump
My favorite was when they called stand and then let him back away off the mark.
watching the replay and the richmond players are running 2 metres over the mark then the ump asks them to move back, they don’t, and our players move the ball on, they get away with it because we played on so the ump doesn’t call it, but the ump should call those, as it happens really ■■■■■■■ often vs us. Opposition knows they’ll get a warning before the 50, and know we’ll move the ball on before the warning becomes a 50.
No no no no, all wrong IT, Draper headbutted the guys hand, he just has that instinct where he knows he can block the defenders play at the ball with his head, play on for mine
Dropped it.
Touched by Zerk.
Bounced twice.
When he scooped it off the ground, he absolutely knew it wasn’t a mark.
It’s amazing that the umps are told by the video review people to review any incident that results in a missed score (or incorrect score) but a blatant incorrect decision that gives a player a chance to score from 20m (e.g. by the award of a dropped mark) is not reviewed.
I reckon we’re at the point where another umpire watching the live feed should be able to advise the central umpire via earpiece that a clear free has been missed or mistake made. We can wait a minute & then overturn a goal because the video shows a touch yet blatant mistakes like the dropped mark are somehow ok. For the games integrity a quick “that hit the ground - ball up” would be a much better outcome.
