Blatant cheating by umpires - “having a ‘mare tonight” (Part 1)

It was unbelievable tonight.

Pretty sure they must have all been in their forward line.

Leigh Fisher again.

Not surprised.

Yes, except it was Guelfi. Best dive on the ground while standing up ever.

Imagine being the kid of an AFL umpire has to to school and get asked what your dad does for a living. The kids would be so ashamed that they would just lie and say that he is a gigilo who gets paid by Japanese business to get ■■■■■■ up the ■■■■ by a donkey because that would be less embarrassing than saying that he is an AFL umpire.

You can’t even enjoy the game anymore because of these low-life scum ■■■■■

Don’t know the stats but apparently Begley got a free kick and played on before the bald headed flog blew the whistle so he immediately called play on and as he was already getting tackled he payed a free against him. Effing hell.

“Odd”

Not saying more, the AFL might sue me.

It’s sad but it’s getting to a stage where we just expect it - week in, week out.

“Your umpiring is AFL standard” is now a clear insult

The rules lead to personal interpretation

I was sitting ground level on the wing, and this must diminish the view.

I didn’t think the umpiring was that bad. Some obvious exceptions of course, but around us, all Essendon supporters, there was none of that hostility you get.

I’ll have to have another look on the replay. I had no idea of the pinching.

I can see how the goal umpire might have had a ‘did I just see what I thought I did moment’ but when it keeps happening, and the evidence starts to show, surly it is time to step over and lay a report, I mean she walked towards them, so she knew something was going in.

If you report old mate, the behaviour stops or you report him again…

As for the so called push that resulted in a goal for starters it was in the side, and secondly it has been done much harder since the dawn of time (and in fact most of the game…)

Same. (although I was watching on telly)

Will rewatch today.

For most of the game it wasn’t bad its just that there were some very very soft frees paid to Hawthorn at critical times that were all in scoring range & on the flip side blatant frees to us were ignored. We seem to get pinged for every possible infringement even some that I can’t see on the replays yet week after week we see things like Tippa getting his head ripped off & they are let go & completely baffling changes in interpretation of the holding the ball rule. Guelfi gets pinged when he had zero prior & the ball was held to him. Not a single person at the ground thought it was HTB but it was still paid. Contrast that with the eternity players we’re tackling get to do a pirouette & even then are able to simply drop the ball if they want.

Seriously, I want to see Tanner come out this week & make a statement like “we are willing to give WC a 4 goal head start if its means something like reasonable umpiring in WA, the bias is real & its a blight on the game. The umpires in Perth need to be more professional in the way they adjudicate against the hostile crowds.” We will need to be at least a 4 goal better side just to get the win as even when we dominated the game like last year the umps will give them everything.

Like Walla almost getting his head pulled off in the last quarter. No free, of course.

Get ready for Marghetts

Easily the most biased against us & WC loving ump in the comp. IIRC his wife works at WC

Move any easily broken objects out of your general living room area next Thursday. And superglue the remote down to coffee table.

There was some floggy essendon supporters near me calling the umpires “fly larva” at the top of their lungs after every decision because i guess they thought they were being clever. Cringy as ■■■■.

Umpiring was fine enough I thought except for the last half of the last quarter. But i haven’t rewatched that part yet to know if I was just caught up in the moment or not.

Half their goals coming from dodgy free kicks, players getting pinched and punched off the ball and nothing done about. I’d hate to see it if they actually were bad
