Brad Scott - #Bradball and bust (Part 5)

Instead of Matty sitting in the media potting the club why doesn’t he come to the club and help.

He has no obligation to help the club. He’s a supporter at this stage, and he’s just as ■■■■■■ as everybody else.

I get it we all are

An exciting young list will be the selling point. Getting in at ground zero. The returning a former great club to the top would be an attraction for the right coach.

Brad has coached poorly but he appears to have us finally get the off field stuff right.

This peice breaks down as soon as Perkins releases his first handball before there is any frontal pressure. As soon as this happens EFC loses the numerical advantage at the contest and the Hawthorn player in the defensive position can essentially nullify 2 the Essendon players to the point we lose all shape and momentum.

Indeed !

I have been trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, but the way they lost to Hawthorn means I think Scott has to go. That was a training drill for Hawthorn. I don’t want them to play like that again (but they will). Once upon a time I used to look forward to games after they lost, as they would come out fired up. But not this team. It’s just a matter of when.

I agree It’s a mix of coaching and individual decision making errors. In the live vision, Peter wright pushes up to the contest thinking Huss won’t win a free kick, but he was likely supposed to be the receiver of the next kick. We have a 3v2 deep in forward 50 but that is still two kicks away and Hawthorn know they can cover it by the time we get inside 50.

I think if the plan is to get to contests and forward handball it’s feeding in to the defensive issues they are trying to solve. A lot of the better teams would get a dead ball situation from where Huss is, already be set up behind the ball and more willing to take short kicks towards corridor to access the 3v2 deep i50

I think it is a list of comparable talent given we’ve beaten them consistently in Brad’s tenure and they actually got weaker in terms of talent over the offseason.

But they already have a new distinct way of playing it seems and a group that have bought in.

I’m not surprised at losing but I’m disgusted by how we capitulate and structurally on field we are a rabble.

The senior players weren’t senior players under Worsfold. Arguably they weren’t senior players under Rutten.

This 100%.

For years people have complained about us not bottoming out and getting elite talent. One game into the season and we want to sack the coach?! Ride out the year. We are trash. Who cares.

Could depend on what Carlton do.

if they sack Voss the club might the pull the trigger on Brad can’t have the enemy getting the best coach available ahead of us.

What loser clubs lols

I am referring to the current senior players who were coached by these 3 dud coaches. Their junior coaches probably had more nous than these 3 bunnies.

Lack of talent is one thing, lack of experience is another.
Looking clueless after a full pre season of working on God knows what is unacceptable.
If he lasts the season it’ll put us back another 3-5 years.

I’ve seen more identity in an under 16s stingrays trial game where we knew each other for 5 minutes than what the boys showed in round 1.

All depends how they respond in the next few games the bulldogs could be the one if they put 150+ on us has a club ever sacked a coach before round 5 lols

Surely Welsh has a plan - Solly being moved onto the coaching panel is hopefully ominous for Scott.

Because there are different versions of finishing near the bottom.

Another year of Brad gets us nothing but a good pick. We are no closer to changing game plans (or I should say, learning a game plan), no closer to finding out who our next head coach is etc.

We can lose but be competitive underpinned by the enthusiasm of a bunch of young players, or we can lose playing horrid, safe football that we are going to need to unlearn when a new coach comes in:

If he sacks Brad just to have his mate Solly as coach I think i might be actually done with this club.
