If it is Loss 13th in a row, then obviously no. Then the jungle drums will start to bang, calling for his head, etc etc

Mason Redman centre bounce

Dylan Shiel half back

Johnston had more disposals and fantasy points in less than a quarter than Menzie had in a whole game…. enough said.

A message to B Scott.

Scotty Scotty Scotty …

Look, I know we were always up against it tonight. None of our KPDs on the list at the start of the year were available. Outside of Merrett and Hobbs, the only other midfielders available both started the year pencilled in to play down back (Shiel and McGrath). You’ve had to play the ruck coach for two thirds of the season and he’s about as mobile as a cement block. Half your small forwards have yips and a big chunk of the side haven’t played 15 games. Only one of your first choice KPFs was available.

I get that we lost. I get that we lost big. That is absolutely understandable and there is little you could do about it.

But what you could do is a little more on development.

Why wasn’t Gerreyn selected? You know, someone actually tall enough to play on one of their tall forwards? Who has been playing KPD in the VFL and excelled last week.

Why wasn’t Davey given a go? At least give him a shot versus Menzie whose papers are surely stamped. You could even play him off HB by giving SEH forward time for Menzie and Clarke more time on the wing.

Weitering is a fantastic intercept mark. Why not play Vigo as a second forward option to support Goldy and allow Wright to stay forward all game? You know, someone actually tall so Weitering wasn’t in marking contests against Guelfi and Menzie. It would give Vigo a bit more experience, and McMahon a better match up. So, why not?

And what was the logic with giving Gresham and Perkins CBAs? Why not Unwin who got into the senior side after good VFL performances in the midfield? Or Johnson who spent time there last year? You know, kids who might learn something.

Once again, I’m in awe at your ability to develop kids Brad.

Thanks,

Ants

Unless we really improve our skills, we won’t need to tank for picks next year.

We’ll just get thumped most weeks. Holy crap we are woeful with ball in hand. Paired with our horrible transition defence, it’s going to be a long 2026 season.

On that, hopefully we never again have to watch Dylan Shiel in an Essendon jumper.

Unfortunately, this is rot. Three teams are worse than us this season. Melbourne and Carlton may be going to lose key players. And we will definitely be better with a good injury run.

The problem is that will only move us to the mid-ranks. We’ll still be miles behind the top 4, just with rubbish picks to boot. If we want to finish low next year we need to trade out some of the better, older players. And play kids over guys like Gresham which Scott just won’t do.

obviously need to improve the skill, but ■■■■ skill is going to be pointless without a ■■■■■■■ plan to either defend or attack.

how can the plan for attack be our key forwards either be 80 meters away from the kicker, or in the middle of ground and their opponents loose behind the ball.

it’s not just a mcmahon thing as it’s happened across multiple games, but how can wetering set up in the most dangerous positions all night, and our forwards are 10 to 20 meters behind him watching him get the ball kicked to him most of the night ?

then you have defenders constantly ahead of their forwards, just running off when the ball is in dispute.

lack of skill is one thing, and there’s an abundance of it at this club, but ■■■■■■■ hell you’ve at least got to have a half decent plan to try and have them be executing, cos they just run around like headless chooks with no ■■■■■■■ idea where the ball is meant to be going, or how to stop the opposition.

Oh please, don’t say that, I live in Eltham! (Hmmm…guess I could go and watch him and throw stuff at him).

12 months to go everyone, hold tight.

The 13 will be next weeK Wednesday night.

He gets the grace of next year getting everyone back from injury.

if we are sitting on 3-5, or 2-6 after 8 games next year, the knives will come out.

His success will be determined on if he can embrace the young group of players coming through over the busted up old timers that have taken us nowhere and never will.

We know Caddy, Roberts and Kako are locks but if Johnson, Nguyen, Clark, El-hawli & Lual are not in the starting line up come Rd 1 next year then Brad will continue to prove that he has nfi.
