History just simply isn’t kind to clubs who bring back an old coach
You’re forgetting Goldy over Bryan most of last year
Took him a long time to give Roberts a game.
Yeah but so did McRae and the good Scott, probably more just can’t be bothered checking.
Agree, hopefully we look back in a few year and call it the year we needed to have.
Should have probably played a few extra games last year. Whilst he has been excellent at VFL he hasn’t been better than average at AFL. Guessing the thinking was that he needed size and endurance.
The biggest thing for me with Brad is the game plan and that he plays people out of position.
McRae came from the successful Richmond model though which superseded his time at the lions, he has clearly brought that to the pies.
The good Scott is a fair one, although he’s arguably the best coach in the game so has moved with the times. He does like his old vanilla bodies too though, they’re just guys that were extremely successful before he even arrived.
It has payed off though with experience in the VFL and working of certain things Brad and co wanted I’m guessing.

To be fair to Scott, we do have the worst small forward stocks in the league. Plus Langford and Perkins are horrible defensively
how is that being fair to scott ?
he’s the coach, it’s his plan he wants the players to implement.
his plan is a forward half game, where everyone pushes up to try and setup to stop the quick transition.
if that’s your plan, then you shouldn’t be picking slow poorly defensive small to medium forwards.
the way the team play is ultimately a representation of the coach, because he is supposed to be in charge.
watching him on game day in the box however, he legitimately looks surprised and angry that they same players continue to dish up the same results.
it’s like he’s actually blind to what the club and players actually are, on gameday.
it’s like he believes his own pr spin, then on gameday actually has to sit there and watch them perform like under 12’s kids.
Ok so drop those players and bring in guns like Menzie and Day-Wicks? It’s clear Scott is trying to rectify the issue by rushing Guelfi back.
Chris Fagan can comfortably take this week off. Having seen the Lions first-hand last night, they will absolutely splificate us. They are everything we are not.
Lock down BomberBlitz this week. No gameday thread please.
Another 60 pint plus drubbing
Book mark it, our defensive system again will be exposed, as will our structure fall apart.
Brad doesn’t want to limit the score of losing and by how much, he stated this he wants to prove on our ball movement and forwardline.
You need to focus on both, an under 12’s coach knows this.
Are people going to be shocked when the reigning premier smashes us at home? Like it’s some sort of sign of regression?
It will be exactly what should happen, given where they are and we are relative to each other.
There are plenty of things to point your fingers at as evidence of things not working if that’s your position, this weekends result probably shouldnt be one of them.
We’ll probably grind out a respectable 3-4 goal defeat which papers over the cracks and convinces people we’re on the right track
The point is that a good coach gets the best out of his players. Scott has consistently failed to do that, and the signs are that it’s getting worse, not better.
It one the laughable statements from Brad, the game style is all about limiting score to try and maintain this defense has been fixed narrative.
I would safely bet by the end of the year our points against will be the worst it’s been in a very long time

who’s job is it not to go into a season with this severely understocked forwardline ?
What senior coach in footy goes, hey just assmemble some players, any kind or sort of players, and i’ll figure it out on gameday ?
Try davey, should have tried saad, try something.
yeah he rushed guelfi and gresham back, and what was different from the other close wins against ■■■■ opposition ? not much
If we have the worst small forwards and lazy medium talls, promote an environment where you try anything and everything, and don’t reward medicority or more free passes at games.
Perkins is ■■■■ defensively, sub par offensively and after a 90 point belting, what was his punishment ?
to play on ball for most of the game where we got to bask in all his glory of walking around in the midfield instead.
you don’t build a better environment by allowing the same crap and the same crappy players to just be safe and comfortable in the knowledge their position in the side is safe.
I have my reservations of Harley coming to us, because I can also see influence from our culture and him becoming part of the easy money club
Brad needs to change our culture don’t believe he can
I hear he inherited a poor list etc…well he put his hand up for the role, now fix it, make the tough and much needed decisions, again I don’t think he can

SEH had 0 tackles and 6 pressure acts against the bulldogs in his time on ground. Didn’t lay a tackle in the game against Sydney too. Maybe that’s why he was sent back to the VFL?
