It seems that we aren’t going to miss Jimmy, just as we didn’t miss Walt at the end. It’s the mess they’ve left behind that’s their legacy. That scene with Kim on the bus broke our hearts.

Saul/Gene deserves everything that’s going to happen to him in the finale. He just couldn’t let things go - setting up the personal data scamming scheme, not leaving the latest victim alone like Buddy wanted to, needing to go upstairs and look, which delayed his exit and made Jeff nervous enough to then crash his car and get arrested, etc.

Such a contrast with Kim who felt compelled to confess to Howard’s wife and then have that breakdown on the bus. They really weren’t meant for each other.

I cannot believe how good this series has been and how good a writer/director Vince Gilligan is.

Nobody at the start of BCS’ run could have predicted we would even be having a discussion about whether it was a better show than BB. BB was after all universally acclaimed as one of the best shows in the history of TV. Surely there was no chance that a spin off series, about the comic relief character, could possibly be anywhere near as good.

And yet it is. It’s a more dull subject matter, not as much excitement and shooting and mayhem but it’s equally as gripping, the character arcs have been top notch and the acting performances are just incredible.

The success of this series makes Gilligan the best TV writer/producer of all time. Making two absolute all time classics takes him past your Sorkin and David Chase and your David Simon and all those other guys. He is unquestionably the GOAT now.

Oh this could be good!

I wonder if they’ll try another spin off and if so, who would be that be. I possibly young Mike? Theres obviously a pretty big past to explore there. Opportunity for some prequel cartel connections too

There was talk of a Gus Fring spinoff, going into his backstory in Chile.

But I think Gilligan and Gould might wanna write about something else after this. They’ve been writing in this universe for 15 years.

They have said they are done with that universe after this series, so this is it

There might be an El Camino style one-off movie down the track somewhere, but yeah, there won’t be another series.

As others have posted, Gilligan has publicly said that he doesn’t want to be pigeonholed into this universe - so this is almost certainly the end of the road.
Allegedly the networks / streaming platforms are queueing up to fight over his next show, which he hasn’t even pitched yet.

Ok so what did we think?

Loved it.

In that last scene was hoping ‘Saul’ and Kim thought up one more major scam and get Jimmy off…

Fitting end I guess…

what am i going to do now?

might start watching BB again…

Enjoyed it. Think it was a good way of winding it up. Saul did what Saul could do - talk his way out of almost anything. But he finally realised he did have a regret - Kim. So he did what he could to apologise to her.

Yep, happy with the way it went out.

Anybody else’s brains add a purple tinge to the black and white whenever Marie was on screen
