Apparently Hocking had some ongoing groin problems towards the end of last year. To keep up with the other players fitness, he is forced to sleep in the altitude room for 12 days!!

That was just a joke, Crowy said "Heath Hocking finished last year with some pain in his groin" and as far as I can tell last year was 2013.
Clearly he meant the season just gone, I guess he was going for "last season" but even that would sound weird to me.
