technically no top at all, but the AC Cobra... drool. The original 289 model, before test driver Ken Miles came up with the idea to stretch the rear end and stuff the 427 engine in one, is my all time fave car. Simply gorgeous from any angle.
a micra looks ■■■■ even with a roof.

Had to Google that one, but definitely agree. Fantastic looking car - muscular and delicate at the same time. Reminds me a bit of the Austin Healey 6-

That is one of the ugliest cars I have ever seen.

Have to agree. the paint job doesn’t do it any favours either. Factor in the photoshopping and it is an epic fail.

That tail light design has always looked unfinished to me, like they are waiting for one last piece to arrive.
This new acquisition by Apple is interesting. Apple now really looks like they will make a car but it won’t be for you to buy. I’m going to have a guess it will be their new subscription model. Subscriptions to their eyes is possibly the best ‘model’ moving forward.
I can just see the court cases now: Apple - we invented the wheel.
Sweet, a hybrid tow truck!
Dunno about that... Just off the top of my head
So much fun to drive too. I have had the chance to drive a 911 and an Aston Martin V8 Vantage and they weren’t much more fun in a simple sense than the humble MX-5.
I always thought the Honda S2000 looked good with its top down, and the Fiat Barchetta
Yeah, one they got right. Classic proportions.
Leaning towards the new Passat 206 tsi for the next family car. Seems to have decent bang for buck at about 60K, fair bit of toe with a 5.5 0-100kmh, slightly better than vanillla styling. There’s just not much out there if you don’t want a 4x4 and join the arms race.
HSV just announced the last model and they are going out with a bang, a ■■■■■■ big bang, 635hp…635hp supercharged LS9 straight out of the ZR1 Corvette in a 4 door family car, race car suspension, carbon fibre, the fronts been widened to fit the wheels, biggest brakes ever fitted to an Australian car this thing is the ducks guts.
It is the fastest most expensive Australian production car ever. Only 295 will be available for sale at $170,000 and if you want one its too late, they’re all sold.
This is the car that HSV had to build to give a proper goodbye to the Commodore.
Yes I know its too big, too loud, a bogan mobile and all the other derogative stuff people say about Australian cars and I know a south American rainforest disappears everytime you start it and 4 different species of animal become extinct when you drive it but if I had a lazy $170k I would buy one in a second.
Great for the school run
Could the front end look any more confused? curves, straight bits, triangles…
You know what else is sad? The UK are getting more of them then we are.
Prolly cheaper too.
How nice is the new Lambo…?!
Still one of the great engine sounds too. Embedded video in the link shows the entire record lap of 6:52. Pretty cool.
