She and her husband, John Alderton, played sundry P G Wodehouse characters in three series. She caught the foppish 20s and 30s so well, poking fun at the upper crust.
After theyād crossed paths as a maid and footman in Upstairs Downstairs.

Was in a 1967 Doctor Who story and offered an ongoing role (39 episodes) as a companion, but declined. Did make a return visit to the show 39 years later, though!
