Celebrity (and not so) Deaths 2024/25

Yep…it was on the original release…but then someone must have mentioned it to the Censor and then all unsold copies were withdrawn…to be replaced with the album less that track.

If you liked both of those albums, then I strongly suggest you listen to more of her later stuff such as “A Child’s Adventure”, “Strange Weather” and “A Secret Life”

She also released an excellent Greatest Hits album called “A Perfect Stranger: The Island Anthology”

Thanks I’ll check them out.

I remember listening to some of her early stuff. Very folksie. Her voice was high-pitched, sweet and completely unrecognisable.

She was very funny about Dylan ~ she said he behaved like Rumpelstiltskin when she turned him down.

Don’t know how well known he is in Aus, but ■■■■ Button, the famous American figure skater and commentator died.

He was 95, so, I guess not a huge surprise, but the timing sure is weird. He had a lifelong association with the Boston skating club that just lost people in the plane crash.

First guy to ever land a double axel and a triple jump of any kind in competition. Won 2 Olympic golds.

I remember her coming to Aus with Jagger for shooting Ned Kelly. At the time the Stones were the baddest of the bad boys of rock, so Faithful having an OD surprised no one, and she was indeed lucky to survive. Her exit from Aus was kept quiet.

As for the Mars Bars? Fast forward 15+ years from 1969 to a Wednesday night mixed tennis comp. One of the girls l was teamed with mentioned the same use of Mars Bars by someone she knew. The Mars Bars were frozen first, then inserted, then eaten. Messy. At the end of the season l gave both of the girls a box of Mars Bars for Christmas, and we all had a little giggle. Fast forward another month or so to the start of the new season. I asked the girl who had told us the story, if she had any Mars Bars left after Christmas. She said no, but didn’t understand why l started laughing.

Just found out about his death. A bit of a shock as I enjoyed his segments and the info he provided for the 5:2 diet. Seemed like a good guy. Looks like he died only a 100m from help after trekking through some rough terrain in the searing heat. RIP

Wow that’s young. Tapping and Selwood on the same day is tragic.

My mum says things come in three. I really hope she is wrong for this occasion.

Troy had a couple of kids as well.

I know I’ll be hugging my kids a little tighter tonight after the passing of Dale and Troy, both fathers to young kids.

Everybody look after yourself. It’s tough right now.

Very bitter divorce, in Scott’s case.

Sounds like Dale’s blood cancer went from chronic to acute. I’ve known that happen in a few cases of leukaemia…when it changes, get your affairs in order…very quickly.

Brian Murphy, 92, was in Man about the House and George and Mildred as well as l;ots of other stuff.
