It seems we need to start asking if we are doing enough the help player’s transition from footy life to regular life

He was another of that group of WCE players who went off the rails.

Wouldn’t make news over there but Josh Mail died of cancer on Monday aged 50. For those that don’t know him he played a few games for the Crows in the early 90’s. I played some junior footy against him and he was playing SANFL league at 16 but just couldn’t make the step up to AFL.

Fark. Played with him down in Tassie when he went there for a year.

Cousins was obviously the most publicised, but Hunter, Fletcher and Kerr were others that if I saw their name in a headline I worried about the worst.
Sadly, on this occasion it is the case.

Gardiner seems to have cleaned himself up but Chick got done for meth possession as recently as a week ago.
