Sly checked out while there was a riot goinā on.
I wonder if he ever got back any of his fortune stolen by his accountant. Every zac about 25 years ago.

Arguably THE father of the Mac:

Hearing chatter that Brian Wilson has passed away.
Yes, widely reported now.
I donāt have the words to describeā¦
Good Vibrations, God Only Knows, Heroes and Villains, I Can Hear Musicā¦
Beach Boys. The first LP that I bought. Loved them. RIP Brian Wilson⦠thanks for the memories.
Thatās a big one.
RIP Brian.
A masterful songwriter. Vale Brian Wilson.
While the Beatles vs. Stones rivalry often grabs the headlines, the creative back and forth between The Beatles and The Beach Boys in the mid-60s was arguably more artistically influential. There was a mutual admiration between the two groups.

Iād love to say the beach boys were great live, but the time I saw them at Sydney Myer music bowl in 1978 was one of the worst gigs Iāve been too.
Personally I think they were a great studio band, but live performances werenāt high on their agenda.
Thatās cause the records were all hired guns.
I loved their early āsurfā hits but have never understood the love for Pet Sounds.
I listen to it at least once a year in the hope that I somehow get to understand what others see.
But Iām still yet to do so.
And (imo) to compare it to Sgt Pepperāsā¦thatās a joke of humongous proportions.
I agree
Enjoyed their music a little and Wilson was a genius at harmony sounds and the surfing genre but it was well below my rung of great music
60s production is still a tad harsh for me to listen to, even state of the art stuff. The amount of plate echo on everything is kind of overwhelming.
When it comes to capturing (or even defining) the sound of a time and place, I donāt think you can go past the Beach Boys.
I went to the second concert on the Thursday 9th March, and even though it was getting close to 50 years ago, I still recall how bad they were. Mike Love was the only one who seemed sober. The Wilson Boys especially Carl was drunk or high or both, that said, so were most of the audience. I only really remember it as it was my first date with the lady who became Mrs Fox the Second, should have been an omen.
