I just remember “where’s the ■■■■■■■ cheese”
TOO SOON.
It would be like slinging barbs about Steve Irwin.
Daniel Kleppner, Physicist Who Brought Precision to GPS, Dies at 92.
He co-authored a textbook called ‘Mechanics for Masochists’ and made many important contributions to Physics, including to the development of the Atomic Clock.
Vale. At least he outlasted quite a few drummers.
Well that’s not a very Spinal Tap way to go.
Hendrix, Bon Scott et al beg to differ
Barrie Robran
Probably the greatest footballer SA ever produced but unfortunately after Leigh Matthews coward hit in the state game where Barrie sustained a horrific knee injury he was never the same and despite playing 6 more years he was a shell of the player unfortunately.
He was an even better bloke though and I’ve been fortunate enough to meet him many times and you simply will not find a better person. I’ve never heard a bad word spoken about him and he was admired and adored by all over here. It’s a very sad day for all SA football folk
Robran, Ebert, Kerley…
The holy Trinity of SA footy all departed now.
There’s no shortage of people who will claim Robran was the best footballer they’ve ever seen.
Didn’t his kid play a few games for the bombers?
Yes, his youngest son played a handful of games for us
In 2000 I believe.
Came in for a couple of games, dominated, went out.
Could have been 2001.
Jonathon Robran?
Played 4 games in 2001
Was originally drafted by the Dawks.
He was unlucky to have been traded to Essendon in 2000. No chance of cracking into that side. Funnily enough, his best game for the club came against the Blues in Round 20. I think he may have replaced an injured Dustin Fletcher perhaps.
Watching the replay of that game fairly recently, Robran played a very solid game that night.
Bradley Murdoch, the outback killer dies. A good news story
He’d been in palliative care for a few weeks. Very ordinary individual.
He was a legit pretty decent player. Just got unlucky when he got recruited by the strongest team in a century.
Played the last h&a game in 2000. Barnesy was suspended and Robran got the gig. Ces played ruck in the first half against Collingwood and lowered his colours, so Robran went into the ruck.
He took control and we won by 3 or 4. Ces kept his spot.
I’m pretty sure that’s the game I remember.
He got Stuart Magill’d.
Imagine being that good and not even considered for selection.
