There’s a tasteless joke there but I’m gonna let it pass….

I admire your restraint.

Another legendary hockey goalie gone and a real tough one for me personally.

I didn’t realized Ed Giacomin passed recently as well. There’s your rule of three….

I’ll admit I was a little confused as to why a hall of famer’s mum or dad dying was newsworthy.

Arguably three of the best NHL goalies in history have passed in the span of about two weeks.

Je suis désoléé, mon frére.

Et aussi, fwa fwa fwa, Celine Dion!

Ah merci…. trois guardiens de but formidable sont morte… C’est dommage.

The Flyers have two Stanley Cups in 58 years of existence. Without Bernie Parent they have zero, no question.

Je suis très fatigué après une journée au bas de la terre.

RIP Chris Doheny, singer with Geisha in the 80’s and, more latterly, vocalist on The Footy Show’s More Than A Game. Had a supreme mullet in Geisha’s heyday…

I can remember doing some rehearsals at a recording studio in Sth Melbourne mid 80’s, and we were thinking we were travelling ok music wise. Then we wandered past another studio, and heard the guys inside sounding tight as fck and reasonably awesome. Put us back in our place pretty hard. We asked the manager on duty who they were, and he said a new band called Geisha…

I ended up buying their first album.

Way behind but very sad. Loved him in Wing Commander. Always had such presence.

I think Geisha were another of those mid 80’s Oz bands whose pre-1st album material bore little resemblance to the stuff they ended up releasing once signed. I saw many bands from that time who were strong live in their early days but released absolutely faceless debut albums which had airbrushed any character from them.

Last film was Last Night in Soho where Diana Rigg also played in her last film. Weird film!

Two up-and-coming actresses in Anya Taylor-Joy and Thomasin McKenzie were the main stars.

Dickie Bird - cricket umpire and resolute Yorkshireman. Probably the only umpire from any sport that earned universal respect from all he came in contact with

Back in 1986 I went to watch my Cousin who was part of Painters and Dockers play at Flinders Street Station at an event called Rockin’ The Rails.

Geisha were playing as well and I think they were three musicians who were very good and as you said tight. It was a wild event.

BF- the band I played in supported Painters and Dockers at the Corner hotel that same year.

Wild gig.
