Youāre gonna need to be a bit more specific. The list of welcomed obituaries is (unfortunately) long. However, I can somewhat safely guess who youāre referring too.
Here Without You and When Iām Gone were both big here.
The former iirc went Platinum and would have been in the top 2-3 songs on a lot of the mainstream radio stations.
Huh⦠well, there you go. Just gave them both a quick listen. Have heard the first one, but never knew it was them. Always thought it was Creed or Nickelback or Live or another of those dull, midpaced acts who rode in as the last remaining dregs of āgrungeāā¦
The second one Iāve honestly never heard before, but it certainly sounds like a Dribble M staple.
I just looked it up and (somewhat surprisingly) Here Without You actually outperformed Kryptonite here.
The band as a whole has also done a far bit of charity fundraising over the years as well.
I think they performed at Trumpās first inauguration cos the only other act under 70 willing to do so was Kid Rock, and probably cos it suited trumps ego to have someone sing about superman at his party. They copped a lot of backlash for it and put out some statement saying how they were acting in respect of the office of the president or something like that. Not sure if they full MAGAed after that.
I unironically liked Superman as a fun dumb rock song, though I never had to endure the sort of aversion therapy towards it that you did!
His biggest āhitā is just a stupid mash up of Sweet Home Alabama and Warren Zevonās Werewolves of London. Typical of most āmusiciansā these days; all they can do is rehash old songs.
hes had some good songs. just a matter of taste obviously. he had a good duet with sheryl crow and his song cowboy was played quite often in the earlier 2000ās.
Iām no MAGA guy but I do love Kid Rockās Devil Without A Cause album. Mainly because Jeff Jarrettās entrance music was āCowboyā. One of the greatest walk out tunes.
