Celebrity (and not so) Deaths 2024 onwards

Although I’ve lived here for 37.5 years, I’m clearly still a Victorian as I’ve never heard of the guy.

I moved over 31 years ago.

From his diagnosis with oesophageal cancer in 2024 to openly wrestling with end-of-life decisions, beloved ABC broadcaster James Valentine took his listeners along with him as he stared down his own death.

Now, after his passing, that openness continues – with Valentine’s decision to share the fact that he ended his life through voluntary assisted dying, or VAD.

VAD seems to be such a hard topic for many people. Thank goodness it is there for those who wish to use it.

I’m really glad it is a thing.
It helps a lot of people.
I’m also glad that, on this at least, religious idiots seem to have decided that they don’t care anymore.

Alex Zanardi.

I had a photo with him at the Melbourne F1 GP years ago (before the accident).

He would have probably been one of the last people to see John Lennon alive.

Yep… from memory, he was the one acting as Yoko Ono’s spokesperson in the immediate aftermath…

IIRC they were mixing one of Yoko’s tracks right before it happened. Don’t know if he was in the studio with them, though.
