One of the last “wets” in the liberal party.

I always thought that Petro was a decent human being, and over the years there have been very few from his party that I would say that about.

I can’t believe Cher died

Yeah, Petro was class. Voted against his then-not-as-insane-as-now party multiple times.

Only two of the original Go4 left now… :frowning:
Of course, he left Gang of Four to form Shriekback with Barry Andrews from XTC.
RIP…

RIP. Definitely one of my favourite bassists, Gof4 lost a lot when he left.
Two I really like:

While she became a public fgure for her fiction, she was a champion of social justice, including directly in her legal aid work .

I had a bit to do with her at University. Not a fan, but RIP Kerry.

A late friend of mine had quite a few senior lawyers and judges in his circle of friends. I remember one well-known judge uttering some highly disapproving words about her.

Don’t want to say much more but it warranted a frown.

Clem Burke, drummer of Blondie.

I never liked them quite as much as a lot of people did, but I do love his playing with that band.

Wow… between Clem Burke and Dave Allen, the afterlife just got itself a helluva rhythm section…
His unique playing style (esp. the inside out 16th note hi-hat playing) was visually so distinctive.
A Blondie show now really is Debbie Harry and hired hands… he was the last remnant of the original blokes (Chris Stein hasn’t played live for several years now).
Beyond Blondie he was also drummer for Eurythmics during their all-conquering “rock phase”.
RIP…

Yep, couldn’t be anything but Dreaming, a drummer just going off on fills all through a pop song.

It was his signature song, but I wonder if secretly he ever regretted it being so “busy”. A bugger of a thing to have to play night after night after night…

When was he the drummer for the Eurythmics?
I went to a Eurythmics concert in Brussels sometime in the mid eighties, I can remember Annie Lennox backed by a great band.

Around the time of the Revenge album (When Tomorrow Comes, Thorn In My Side et al).

Am I getting my drummers mixed up or did he have a stint with the Ramones at some point too?

Yeah, briefly (as Elvis Ramone).
