I remember some of the flashback crash scenes from Zero Hour were used in Flying High, l am serious and don’t call me Shirley.
I watched(no sound) flying high at the drive in, although I sneaked in the back From a teachers TGIF in Mowbray in the 80’s
Sounds like the guy had some struggles. That’s saddening that he had no one check in on him for that many weeks.
Early memories (for me) of Ian Redpath. Skinny, with his Adams apple seeming to be the most pronounced thing about his physique. But he stuck at it and was hard to dislodge.
He’s got a place in the great C’mon Aussie C’mon song!
As a kid in Geelong I went in a group to watch the cats training. We were standing on the fence talking to the reserves coach, Darky Harris. He was talking about all-round sportspeople, and I remember being astonished to hear him say that both Paul Sheahan and Ian Redpath could almost certainly have played at the highest level of footy. Apparently Redpath - despite his scrawny appearance - ran like a greyhound, and was balanced and skilful with the Sherrin.
One thing Redders was great at was hitting cracking shots straight at the fielder.
And one thing he was not great at was staying in his crease until the bowler delivered the ball. Got Mankaded more than once.
I believe he ran an antique shop in Geelong.
graceful and modest it’s very sad to hear he’s gone
vale Redders
Actor Ian Smith (Harold Bishop from Neighbours)
Has terminal cancer and got told has only months to live poor guy such sad news. did a sit down interiew with Anglea Bishop that will air on 10.
edit- just watched his interview that was hard to watch seems such a lovely man my heart goes out to him,his family and the Neighbours crew who worked with him for so many years
He will obviously deteriorate very rapidly at some point, but he still looks in decent shape for 85.
Redders formed a decent opening partnership with Stacky for a while, despite their very different approaches and styles.
Neale Fraser. Aged 91.
Fair resume he had…
Incredible career and an incredible life. A true icon in Australia.
Well that is sad, she was an icon in her time. Out of reach, but seemed lovely. Her flowing garments and exotic head apparel, and lovely smile.
She always reminded me of a cat who knew exactly where to find a big bowl of fresh cream. Fabulous.
