Alfie Nobel got tired of killing people with nitro-glycerine, including his own brother, so he invented dynamite (1867). Then he went on to invent gelignite (1875). Nobel peace prize - oh yeah.

And you’ve got the Delaware company, DuPont.

Made a fortune during WW1 making munitions.
Got conscience
Made a fortune during WW2 supplying nylon for use in manufacture of parachutes

Also invented Teflon (and Kevlar, I believe)

So nothing bad will stick to their reputation.

Loved Cheers and I remember the kitchen dancing scene with John Travolta in Look Who’s Talking was good.

She was great in The Last Don as well.
If you haven’t seen it, imagine the jaded Talia Shire character from Godfather 2 with a twist of vindictiveness.

Yeah, must admit they didnt sound that great without Lindsay & the voices were struggling in Melbourne in 2019.
Getting to the stage where it might be the last chance to see a number of great performers.

Nor did a lot of the world at large. Just like a Pakistani cricketer, he fudged his age downwards by a good 10-15 years during The Stranglers’ heyday, and it never got questioned. How punk of him…

Maybe there’s hope yet for some of us old drummers…

An Ewok gone

The finest ‘Third Man’ that we’ve had so far. I’ll list the number of memorable bouts he’s been part of when I get a minute.
