Some thoughts: Arsenal are going to have a hell of a time getting out of their group. They are going to need some more players if they are going to fight for CL and a top four finish in the lge.

Gotta feel for AC Milan, I reckon this is about the 3rd or 4th year straight they have drawn Barca in either the group stages or knockout rounds. Must be sick of the sight of them.

All the other English teams should get through pretty easy you would assume.

A toss up between Group B & F for the closest and most entertaining matches

You'll finish second mate, no worries. Too much class for Ajax and Celtic

Wouldn't you rather get them in the group stages than in the early knock out stages?  A bit like if Australia get Brazil or Spain in the WC.

I am a bit unsure about Arsenal's group.  Dortmund will be a really interesting couple of ties, without us buying some quality players I think we could get smashed.  I think we could beat Marseille and it would be really nice to show Gonzalo Higuain that he should have pushed harder to come to Arsenal than go to Napoli...

Good first up win for United, 4-2 over Leverkusen, Rooney with a brace to bring up his 200th United goal. RVP and Valencia on the scoresheet aswell. Score flattered Leverkusen a touch, they scored a late one and both RVP and Rooney missed absolute sitters, Rooney was only 1m out.

Scores today

Manchester United 4-2 Bayer Leverkusen

Real Sociedad 0-2 Shakhtar Donetsk

FC Copenhagen 1-1 Juventus

Galatasaray 1-6 Real Madrid, Ronaldo hat trick

Benfica 2-0 Anderlecht

Olympiacos 1-4 PSG

Bayern Munich 3-0 CSKA Moscow

Plzen 0-3 Manchester City

Yaya Toure’s goal against Plzen was pretty special.

happy to get the win. Good performance too with the derby coming up on the weekend. That goal by Ronaldo phwoar

The footwork by ronaldo was absolutely superb!

yaya. ■■■■■■■ beast

milan have sent out the c team against celtic this morning due to a ridiculous early season run injury run with almost a dozen not available for selection, going to be a scrap

got it done, horrible performance.

basel with the ultimate smash and grab @ chelsea!

messi hat trick, said that a few times

Good start for the Gunners. 3 points away with a pretty depleted squad.

Ramsey is a fkg beast at the moment.

Arsenal certainties to go through from that group, they always dominate in the Group Stage, usually starts turning pear shaped around the quarters though. Its only early but they already appear miles ahead of last seasons side

great to see langerak make his CL debut for dortmund against napoli, albeit not under the best circumstances with weidefeller seeing a first half red. talk about being thrown in the deep end

made a few key saves from all reports and looked composed, but chipped his two front teeth on the post trying to save an insigne free kick which beat him in the second half!

i don't think there's ever been a better second best player in the world.

Good to see some Aussies playing in the CL.
Robbie Kruse also came on as a sub yesterday at Old Trafford, not a bad place to make your CL debut
