Man U have hit bursts of goals at times recently, often exciting, and Spurs have been more dour rather than well-worked finishes. But yeah, this final could be anything. Both are wildly inconsistent.
Funny when we play a great defensive game and hit on the counter like we did against Frankfurt \ Bodo it’s called “dour”. If we play front foot, high press, it’s called naive, crazy ignorant football. Winning football is winning football. Regardless. I dont know if they will beat Man U, but they are a chance.
What the. Arteta saying the obvious. Arsenals position on the EPL table and getting to the Champions League semis is self evident and in both semis the PSG goalkeeper was brilliant. One man beat Arsenal.
What he needs to be talking about is next season, and how they will sustain or lift their leveĺ of performance. Maybe try and get the PSG goalkeeper !
Instead he seems to be looking backwards as if to avoid being replaced for coming second.
Personally, judging by the way Arteta is carrying on, cracks are showing. Arsenal peaked this season and he knows it.
Not sure if dour is the word I’m after. I like the more defensive side, I’m talking more about the end product of the goals themselves.
Yep, they haven’t been top notch like when we beat Man City away. Those goals were all quality. What I have liked is the resilience of the boys, especially that Frankfurt win away. Absolute quality. Anyway, I look forward to the game and I know a lot of Man U supporters are as well.
Arsenal need to invest in a world class striker and maybe one more creative forward player. Then I wouldn’t right them off. If they don’t then CL will be tough and you would think the PL is possible but would be tough. So Arsenal for me will come down to the transfer window.
That incorrect and disrespectful to PSG. In fact the only reason why the scoreline heading into the 2nd leg was 1-0 PSG was Raya. PSG really should’ve had a 3-0 lead going to Paris. It’s special levels of delusion from Arteta and Arsenal fans to claim that one man beat them, and that they were the better team when they lost both the home and away legs.
Arsenal’s issues are in the front third of the pitch, and in the dugout. Arteta is an arrogant, conceited man who has tried to blame everyone but himself and his players for their shortcomings this season, especially in the PL. Best get yourself to the barbers Mikel, make sure you’re looking super sharp for when you clap the champions onto Anfield this weekend!
I’d be looking at a centre forward and also someone for the left hand side and basically make Martinelli a squad player and someone you bring off the bench. He’s OK but you can easily upgrade that position IMO. Perhaps another midfielder that complements Declan Rice, defensively they are fine. Then for me it’s Arteta’s last chance. Another trophy-less season and you’d bin him off.
I suppose Arsenal have the cash for another world class striker ? If not I expect they will not stay in contention . Far too many drawn games in 2024/5
What’s happened to Son for Spurs? Is he injured or really out of favour?
Injured
They need to be. Isak might be priced out of everyone’s range, but there are others out there that could fit the bill. That has to be the priority for Arsenal, that focal point in attack. Then, if they can also upgrade on Martinelli on the left, that’s a bonus.
They might be EPL scrubbers this season, but reckon it’ll be a cracker of a final. The return of Mason Mount (where the hell has he been) gives MU a dangerous edge with Bruno carrying the team on his back as ever…
But Ange is bullish and demob happy … and so are his troops now. Its a European final as crazy as it is these two fighting it out. History beckons for Spurs .
On the injury table. If he played for Essendon, he’d be best mates with Rids, Parish and Guelf.
