Having watched ZT in the VFL his form hasn’t been great but has improved since the start of the season. He’s starting to show a bit more hunger and some of his efforts Saturday night showed that. He still had our lowest stats but Stewart wasn’t far above him, maybe just 2 extra disposals. I’d like to see ZT have a bit more consistency about him. In the end he might pass Stewart, but Stewart seems a bit taller and a bit faster. Stewart is also newer to the back role and needs to be persisted with a bit longer. For the future it could be a great battle between Reid, Stewart, ZT and Francis with only 2 or 3 of those talls being in the team, The other backs - Heppell, Redman, Hind, and Laverde seemed to have cemented themselves in. Then there are ones like Brand and McBride to keep pushing them. Our backline looks like it will be steady and strong for years to come, and that’s why I want to see more from ZT fighting for that spot and showing it in the VFL with a bit more fight and determination will go a long way to doing that. It’s all about the future!

He’s slow as treacle but he’s hard as a coffin nail and as a lockdown defender is a serviceable back up. He definitely comes straight out for Francis when he’s ready though.
