Changes v Saints

Yes, if we win those games to make it we would be top 4 and would have franked our form…….hope is all us Bombers fans have…lol

3 small forwards or even 4 seems to be the modern game now, all about not allowing intercept marks and creating high pressure for dangerous smalls……our biggest issue is we don’t have smalls worth a cold pie……Guelfi a great trier and the best of them; Gresham more high half forward and tries to do too much, lacks team first mentality; Menzie shows very small glimpses and is probably the most natural goal sneak but is barely AFL standard; ADJ is more a mid but I genuinely don’t think he will make it a AFL level…….what’s that leave us? Sweet FA.

I acknowledge we don’t have a superstar small forward. Or even a star small forward. But it doesn’t mean you can’t function without one.

Carlton had Matt Owies, Zac Williams, Orazio Fantasia and Corey Durdin. Sometime Fogarty played. Cuningham got a game here and there. Motlop at times. Even Jack Martin got a game here and there.
A year ago they were worth sweet FA as well. Heck, some people here probably still don’t rate their small forwards.
But the system works around having two key targets (McKay and Curnow). We have three (Wright, Langford and Stringer). And that’s before you add Caddy / Jones.

Anyway, I’m not expecting the coaches to lean towards going with small forwards anyway. They haven’t shown that trend consistently at all in the last few years so there’s no point wasting energy on it.

I absolutely agree.
I’d be very surprised if we won more than 2.

However, my calculations a couple of weeks ago was that 13.5 would be required for 7th/8th.
14.5 for 5th/6th, and 15.5 for Top 4 and probably a home Qual.Final.

Now, I’m thinking 13.5 could very well make it to 6th because Port and the Giants have pretty challenging Draws.
If we can scrounge the 3 wins, who knows.

Yes losing 5 of the last 7 is “dropping off a little”!

Should the rest of this season and all of 2025 in the VFL before being delisted

Out, Menzie, Goldie, Guelfi
In, Tsatas, Hind, Davey (either)

Will be flying into melbourne for the saints game, haven’t watched a game in melbourne since I’ve been beer drinking age, what’s the go to watering hole before marvel games?

Curious to see how main training goes tomorrow.

Hawks turned their season around off the back of when Mitchel warned them to “bring your mouth guards to training”

We need an old fashioned hard nose training session if we want any hope of turning this season around this week

They’ll serve up this 1000012218

Saints players & fans will enjoy it watching all of Davey, Guelfi, Cox & Wright do Houdinis.
Couple of well placed Martin htb & Menzie turnovers Saints won’t need to kick goals. Not to mention what Mcgrath does :tired_face:

Learn how to play wet weather footy?

I bet you they do something stupid like Wright and Heppell in for Goldstein and Guelfi, then swap Hobbs in as sub for Perkins. Seems like a very Brad Scott thing to do.

Averages 7 tackles a game this year.
I dunno wtf is going on in the minds of the coaching as staff.

Lack of versatility to play other positions is his problem.
This will be exacerbated when Parish returns.

Imagine if Reid was fit too.

If Hobbs isn’t in the team come Thursday night, I’m going to unleash a rant the likes of which this board has never seen

The most obvious IN that there has ever been
