The first crack preview said the same basically we havenāt beating them since 2018 and then the record before that is 18 losses from the last 21 games.
Then they said if we lose this the pressure comes internally and externally

Where do you get this stuff from? Nobody is saying that. You take any discussion around potential match up threats and the like so personally and as though those engaging in those discussions think itās a fatal blow.
If you donāt think that our best stopper going out of the side against a team with a raft of dangerous small forwards is noteworthy then thatās interesting but up to you. I personally think it is worthy consideration. Fatal? No of course not. Weāre in this contest up to our eyeballs. But I think it has a negative flow on effect for other match ups.

Always fascinating how a players worth gets magnified by at least 50% as soon as news of their unavailability comes through.
For the record Iām a fan of Jake Kelly and reckon he cops a lot of unfair criticism at times.
If he is the difference between winning and losing tomorrow night against a battling opponent, then start booking the September holidays already.

I think it makes the job of their small forwards who heād rotate through that bit easier. That is all.
Nothing about that making them $1.05 favourites.
Itās a factor in a game made up of a multitude of factors that ultimately decide a result.
If we are good enough to win the midfield battle decisively enough weāll win.

Issue is Goldy been in horrendous form.
Caddy played last week and did well.
We were all singing Goldyās praises after the GWS game and bashing Draper after the Adelaide game.
Letās see how Goldy goes after a freshen up and against an opponent who isnāt in AA form

Do you think Menzie will come into the 22 and play as a defender? He likely provides good drive and better ball use from defence than Kelly but maybe not as tight or good in 1-1ās. Or will he be the sub?

I donāt think Goldstein has been that bad.
The main issue with Goldstein, is that he isnāt a very good centre square Ruckman anymore.
Thankfully the centre bounce is Draperās biggest strength.

Wow Kelly plays 1 on 1?
All games are big and important. However thereās a big test facing Essendon tomorrow night that they just must pass to be legit, internally and externally. Credibility at stake. Yes, they can beat Pies or Deeās. Yes, itās just one game. But the Cats are on their knees, and will come out firing you can be sureā¦ But Essendon just has to get the job done to be finals worthy.
A win, theyāve passed a big test and elevate themselves in the footy world. And their internal belief goes to a new level of what could be. A loss and they no doubt would have self doubt internally abd big questions externally.
Yes, itās a journey and weāre on a terrific path. Essendon is coming. Question is, will tomorrow night confirm Essendon is arriving as a genuine finals contender or just one of those teams trying to make the finals?
A big test no doubt.

How is Menzie at all a like for like replacement for Kelly.
I dont think Kelly should be in the team either, but if you are going to bring someone to play a similar role surely Roberts finally gets the nod?
And if you arent bringing in like for like I would have thought Hobbs, being the emergency should have been picked.

The strange thing is in that footage the club put out from today with Walla you can clearly see Kelly there so he cant be that sick lol. Lets hope he hasnt infected other players now
