Egh I was there that day at that end. It’s embedded in my psyche
That was fked up.
25 seconds left, Ball up deep in our forward pocket and they got coast to coast on a wet night to win after the siren.
2 humiliating defeats sandwiched in between that massive 25 goal win when they hit rock bottom, strange
Weather forecast hasn’t altered fir a few days, indicating showers falling from around 6pm… Geelongs bigger bodies could help them, I think our forward combination for a likely wet weather game could prove pivotal. Setterfield in surely an obvious inclusion. I really wouldn’t play Wright, sorry I just don’t think we will get enough from him (ruck aside).
No, there’s plenty more.
Could we be lucky enough to get Thailand Ricky and Smokin’ Joe both on the 'blitz?
Heppels 250th game.
Hopefully we’ve learnt from his 200th.
Fully agree with all that.
God, I hope we don’t bring Goldy in. Geelong is one team we can a run single ruck against. Right now, the only change I can see is Gresham for Menzie. Setterfield might be looked at, too.
Side is too tall and slow.
To drop Caddy after today’s excellent performance would be the height of player mismanagement.
Only change would be Menzie our, Gresham in and that’s harsh on Menzie
If we drop Caddy for Goldy then my opinion of Scott will crash badly.
oh good
ANNOUNCE DRUBBING
Especially if it’s wet. I even drop Right, but they won’t. If wet, can’t play Wright, Caddy and Jones. Need more ground ball forward options.
Need to bring our performance from anzac day and GWS
Do that and we belt the Cats
They won’t drop Wright, though they may twig one day that the forward mix is off. Too big, too slow, not enough pressure.
Doing a stocktake of big, measuring stick games against Geelong that we have failed abysmally. What have I missed?

Honourable mention to 2015 when we went in not expecting much and indeed delivered with a scoreless first half.
Cmon tiges beat the ■■■■■■■ scums
Like cox?
I’m a fan of Nik, but Wright in the wet worries me. Surely only there for ruck support. Personally, if they play Wright, I have Caddy to the VFL for balance.
I really hope we win this one. Geelong have just brushed us aside for years, and there’s every danger that they’ll do it again. They’re definitely on the downhill slope, but their team is still full of big strong players who go hard at the ball. If we turn on another half-hearted effort like today’s, we’ll definitely lose.
But if we go at them really hard from the very first bounce and we keep it up all game, this one is definitely winnable. More than personnel, we need to change a lot about the way we play. There’s far too much ■■■■■■■ around in the backline – it’s justifiable to kick across goal if you are really opening up an attack on the other side of the ground, but our backs use it as an excuse for not finding anything constructive to do, and time and again it ends with us pinned down on the other side of the ground and even further back than we were before.
We’re like every other team in that we are most dangerous when there’s fast movement through the corridor and into the forward line and some one-on-one contests. The zig-zag movement to the wing, a pause, and then a long kick to a six-man pack in the pocket will just result in Tom Stewart taking 25 marks for the game. Redman needs to show some dash. Kelly – well, Kelly needs to be hold that if he holds on to the ball for more than half a second before disposing of it then he’ll never play another game.
Most of all it will depend on pressure. It was woeful today. That has to be turned right around.
