We played a dry track side in the wet and surprise suprise, a bunch of baby giraffes trying to take first steps in an ice rink. We picked wrong side. Next week, back on dry deck so different story. Changes needed but some players last night set up to fail… cox, wright, should of been spelled. Hepp on farewell tour ide say, so another rest this week for me.

Laverde and Heppell are fighting for the one spot. We can’t have both so it’s going to be Lav every time.
wright has been average most of his career and is getting worse. Been abysmal this year. Needs to be dropped so that means Cox stays in to chop out in the ruck.
Goldstein come in for Draper the latter who needs another 12 months in the VFL to learn how to play as a ruckman and also learn to kick the footy.
Desperately need a small forward. Earlier AD jnr seemed to work so maybe he replaced es wright.
We badly need (another) big bodied mid. In the absence of anyone better, Setterfield to come in. He can replace Perkins who has been average at best.

Players only reduced the margin, while only the commentators were sprinkling hope
It was death by a 1000 papercuts watching it. Highlights we still don’t handle heat when it’s on us, we don’t like body contact, we stand off our players, and refuse to tackle when needed .
The Ridley one where he stood back from the Melbourne player who was on the ground getting the ball and just guarded grass and he picked himself off the grass and kicked a goal uncontested is exactly where we are at as a club.
I prefer hearing bickering and points scoring between posters all week. We need a Blitz scoreboard or something- it’s really hard to keep track of who won Blitz each week.

He was absolutely horrible for 90% of the game. He has been poor for quite a while
I would 100% drop stringer, who played one of the most selfish games I have seen a play play for a long long time

We will differ on the 90% but realistically no one at the club is going to discuss dropping Langford. More my point. 10 guys are easily in front of him.

Heppell, Perkins and Wright are the ‘must drops’ for me - but I doubt any of them will be. Cox and Shiel the other two on the block (the latter less so for form).

You just can’t drop him, might aswell forfeit the game because it leaves nothing in our forwardline.
Wright needs the canon first and foremost absolutely a liability in our team.
He is playing like a first gamer, totally void of any confidence since the suspension. Prior to that he was serviceable. Ii recall mentioning after suspension I seriously hope he didn’t go into his shell and being scared of shadows on here, it’s happened and I’ll point fairly at the coaches and medical staff for that, for allowing him to play in the seniors, and help him more. It is his type of character to do so.
I don’t even care anymore but what I’m sick of is the weekly comments from Scott about “horses for courses”. It never happens.
If anyone in their right mind looked at the conditions last night and had the choice between Wright/Cox or Setterfield/Hobbs they should be picking the latter every time.

Stringer will perform next week against weaker opposition under the roof. Time to let him go, no contract extension.
