For mine a few young 'uns need to be supported after that disaster of a second half last night. So …
Baldwin BZT Kelly
McG Ridley Redman
Martin Merrett Durham
Snelling Weideman Perkins
Stringer Langford Tippa
Draper Setterfield Shiel
IC Voss Caldwell Hobbs Heppell
Sub D’Ambrosio
In: Ridley Kelly Voss Snelling
Out: ADJ Phillips Hind Menzie
Keep the faith with Durham, he’ll be better
But need much much more from Weideman
Time for Archie to shine properly
ADJ and Jye look to be feeling the pressure a bit too much at the mo’ so swap them out for a bit I’d say.
Snello will add some true grit and pressure
And Tippa will rise for this one I suspect
But the two Tiger forwards we must keep a lid on are Dusty and Bolton. McG and Kelly to those I suppose.
Gotta get back to winning ways ASAP. If we train the house down this week and stop this shutting shop for a quarter and play the game out properly, we’re an outside chance.
I don’t agree with this, Draper will be the better player no doubt but he’s a liability everywhere on the ground at the moment and wasn’t even affecting contests let alone halving them.
To be honest the rucks are woeful at the moment teams are using makeshift rucks and getting better returns then us with two genuine rucks in the side
Assuming Walla and Davey are walk up starts for dreamtime.
Out: Menzie In: Snelling
Out: Hind In: Kelly ( Massimo only gets the nod over Hind because he is younger)
Out: Phillips In: Ridley, it’s either him or Draper but the two rucks were looking a bit worn out last night
Apart from belting the Dorks and, let’s face it, everyone does, the MCG has not been a happy hunting ground for us in 2023! I’d hope that this changes next week but it does depend on who’s available. If Ridley and Kelly are fit, they must play.
Given our poor record with injuries and recovery, who knows?
Possibly In: Ridley Kelly Snelling Voss Wanganeen (sub?)
Possible outs: Shiel (inj?) Phillips Mass Menzie Hind
Hope Baldwin keeps his spot if we have the right match up. Probably needs to play until Laverde is back. So that could mean another 2-3 games to show his wears.
They’ll play Tippa as it’s Dreamtime (we’ll I hope they do), otherwise he and Davey should be out. Tippa was a long way off it last night, uncharacteristic poor game.
Hind was woeful but can you blame a guy for making errors when we took the game on!? Had some brain fades though.
To get Weed into the game, do they play him as the second chop out ruck and drop Phillips. Bring in Voss to help out up fwd?
Not sure where Mass fits in, might be straight out again.
Shiel may not come up!? Ankle? No obvious replacement. Hobbs doing we’ll though. Snelling comes in across the fwd line and Hobbs into the guts for Shiel if need be.
Draper had a bad night outside the ruck. But he’s been soooo much better than Phillips in the ruck for weeks that the idea of dropping him is crazy. Against Collingwood, Port and Geelong our performance in the ruck noticeably dropped off when Phillips went in there.
Obviously Rids and Kelly come back in, but that could mean Menz and Massimo go out.
We also need to bring in a game plan that actually works where the forwards lead to space or the mids kick it so they’re running onto the ball. This idea of bombing it in is so bloody frustrating.
