Lual. Gee, he might be an Alastair Lord like “debutant” if he gets picked. In as the sub and never sets foot on the field. Parish is obviously a confirmed inclusion, so that’s at least one change. Probably Tsatas out.

Cincotta in for Carlton. He’ll take Merrett wherever he goes. Like he did 2023 (for memory).
If Merrett plays in the backline, that’s one less small forward for them at the feet of McKay and Curnow. I think that’s a positive for the rest of our defenders.
Stick him at the centre bounce, and that’s another contested midfielder that has to come out of Carlton’s centre bounce setup.
I don’t think pushing Merrett forward will be as beneficial. Might be worth trying if we have no other choice though.

What other back-half/wing players are left? You’ve got Davey, Smart, Unwin and Menzies as small forwards, but I’m pretty sure everyone who is small and plays deeper is injured or in the squad.
