Changes vs FarkCarlton 2025

10 day break will help Durham, hopefully. Love the way we attacked the last three quarters. Carlton a very slow side.

In - Parish McMahon/Davey
Out - Setterfield Gresham

Perkins only forward please. No more midfield time. Way too one-paced in there.

I doubt they will change much for Carlton. Yes it depends how well the VFL goes but the idea of staying a little small and out manoeuvring farkcarlton can work.

Curnow and McKay against Laverde and Redman in the air. My god.

Out: Durham, ADW
In: Tsatas, Shiel

Our only hope is Carlton become too predictable with delivery into f50 trying to exploit the matchup.

Out: Gresham Perkins Day-Wicks (to sub) Durham?
In: Davey McMahon Tsatas Parish?

Also is Smartt a better option than Hobbs in that half forward pressure role?!

Yep that was my thought last night whilst redman was constantly getting outmarked by Morris and Darcy Gardiner

Let’s see what Parish does this weekend.

If okay, sub him out for Duzz.

That’s all I would do.

Oh, and potentially bring in the new Ruckman.

let’s see how vfl goes?
For someone who likes watching the VfL. it’s bloody hard to when it’s on at 12:05 on a Friday and you’re supposed to be working.

night game would have been better. and there likely will be no crowd.

carlton are slow , we need to move the ball around a lot and make them defend . hopefully caddy can have the game he’s overdue for and rip them apart . same for Kako . he really got more involved this game . if Perkins can have one of his 2 good games this year we might be a chance .
he is the sort of player when he plays well they won’t cope with

If Parish gets through I’d expect he’ll come in - straight swap for Hobbs
We need height down back AND up forward so McMahon and/or Vigo might be a chance if they play well today. So early calls;-

OUT: Hobbs, ADW, Johnson
IN: Parish, Vigo, McMahon

Team;-

Prior McMahon McGrath
Redman Lav Martin
Durham Caldwell Duursma
Perkins Caddy Clarke
Vigo 2MP Kako

Goldy Setters Merrett

Bench: Tsatas Parish Roberts Gresham
SUB: Guelfi

Looks bad on paper, but it’s been a very long time since Curnow and McKay have come together to punish a team.

ATM they are overrated. I hope we go in small again.

Agree on Gresham, he was good after half time, and played with a corky. Also people wanting Setters dropped…who do you want to play on Cripps I wonder?

He’s been good doing a lockdown job whilst getting some the hard balls going in our direction, this can cause some erratic kicking which some might see as a weakness. I think he and Hobbs are playing for the one position, I wouldn’t have them both in the same team.

People think Fark Carlton are hot favourites here? I don’t get it. They’re bog average. Speaking of which:

Out: Perk, Hobbs, Goldy
In*: Parish, ADJ, Vigo/Blak

*pending VFL outcomes

Tsatas should come in for a full game. Scott’s misuse of this player is more than negligent, it is bordering on the criminal.
Perkins needs a spell in the maggoos, he looks disinterested and in need of a wake up call. That would be about the only change l would make, although if McKay is over his foot injury, he should come in to play on his brother.

I wonder if Blakiston will come in to give Goldy a spell. Todd played well against Forte, but l fear what TDK will do to him around the ground.

Brad had the same impression, said in the presser that Gresham looked proppy before half time, but he had a good second half.

Zach gave it to Gresham at half time. Reckon it was that shot that fell short, when 2MP was riding shotgun and wpuldbe likely nailed it.
Agreed, Gresh had a good second half. Id leave ADW out for ADJ, Parish in for Hobbs. Has mcmahon shown enough today? Wpuld love to see him get a game and prove FC wrong.

IN: Shiel

Out: Perkins

I agree. Hobbs is great in many ways, but his kicking is absolutely woeful. They are all dinky up and under floaters – usually accurate up to about 30 metres, but so slow that the target player is usually under pressure by the time it arrives. And his goalkicking from anywhere outside 20 minutes is pretty much a guaranteed miss.

I also don’t get the Gresham hate. He was in everything in the forward line. Kicked a beautiful goal and was involved in the lead up to many others. Has a bit of aggro too.

Please no. Would be a very good player if we wasn’t such a ball butcher. Gets it heaps but his disposal is still panicked / rushed after all of these years he hasn’t improved this.
