PAUL Chapman will join Essendon next year after playing 251 games at Geelong since 2000.
Chapman and his manager Liam Pickering agreed to a deal that could see him earn around $300,000 a season.
And if his 32-year-old body allows he will play for two seasons in a move that will see him reunited with his Geelong 2007-2009 premiership coach Mark Thompson.
It is expected the Bombers will use him in the same role he played at Geelong, as a forward who can run through the midfield.
Chapman, who lives in Torquay, will re-locate to Melbourne where he is looking to buy a house in the western suburbs.

Good get, our young small fwds might learn a trick or two from Chappy hopefully
Why is it that Chappys salary is the only one announced? No info on what the Roos are paying El Sancho and what the Crows are paying Pods.

Thanks mate that's really easy to read.
As long as his contract is around games played then I think it is a good get. He is not what he used to be but if he playes more than 18 games in a year he will win our goal kicking; I don't think we will see too much of him through the mid field.
If 300k is him playing 16 games or more, I'm happy.
P.S Must be fit for finals also ;)
Moving from Torquay to the Western suburbs ha, poor ■■■■■■■.

He'll be able to hold his own out here.
250k is the 2014 average.
Seems reasonable to me.

Sorry for that bad post! - Not sure how to actually delete it and I also actually corrected myself the post after (it looked like a table when i copied and pasted it in)
Great get.
Good cover for the Crameri exit, he may very well be a better option.
An intelligent forward who knows where to make space to be dangerous and will help with teaching our youngsters.
Could easily be a 30+ goal kicker this season if he stays fit and if we keep our early season form for the whole season.
Brings experience, ability, work ethic and good culture. Plus knows how to snag a goal or two.
Will be a plus for Essendon whenever he's on the field which hopefully is 16plus times a season.
I don't think it's official yet. Afl haven't announced it yet.
I don't think i can be official until 1 November

Good cover for the Crameri exit.
What exit? Have we done the deal yet or are we still holding out? Mugs just let him go and take 22.
