Gutless postmodern response.
âTheir truthsâ ie; we dont agree with what they said
Rather cynical response from someone I would least expect to hear it from.
I just want this stupid saga to end. What a waste of everyoneâs time.
âŚexcept the lawyers. Theyâll make some bank off this.
Thanks for the kind comments. I find references to âtheir truthâ weasel words. It suggests no-one can really know what happened when in practice the implications were clear and meant to be clear.
According to the players, Clarkson, Burt, Matthews (with Fagan nodding approval in one instance) keep telling Peterson, Anderson, Rioli and Miller-Lewis they are failing the club by being with partners or having children. The solutions offered are break-ups and/or abortions. There is one truth in these comments if they were made.
I wouldnât mind if HFC said there were disagreements about what happened. Donât give me this smug relativist âyou have your truth which I respect, I have mine (hands in prayer bow)â when the effects of the allegations are unmistakable.
It was a joint statement, but it still sounds pathetic. I understand the stress of the case meant this may have been a good outcome for the complainants involved. It still feels like an opportunity missed to shine a searchlight into some dark places.
the allegations were far fetched and at times, nonsensical.
Snuck that through at a good time with the draft
The AFL makes sure that no searchlight EVER gets shined into its dark places. EVER.
Itâs the the thing those Rsoles do best.
Yeah what a â â â â of a quote that is.
Thats not a proper apology.
I hope the cheque was really big.
And Alistair Clarkson will always be an angry little racist. Sue me.
Didnât âthe Clubâ attempt to make good by undertaking the review? At least thereâs some ownership of the problem they and their employees created (even though individuals passed the buck)
It feels like this is just to ring fence it from the AFL and likely the protagonists.
(Or am I reading this wrong)
