Yeah I think the media know when to publish the next wave of articles to get maximum clicks.
I don’t think this story is completely dead yet.
I think their strategy has been to do nothing and see what happens.
If there’s no noise, they will do absolutely ducking nothing have done a far reaching, sensitive, comprehensive and in-depth report and will action the recommendations going forward.
If, on the eve of round 1, a ■■■■ (I know, I know…) or even a Goodes or Lumumba is keeping this alive, keeping them honest on this, maybe something happens.
Once again, where is the AFLPA, where are the agents in all this.

The AFL wouldn’t mind that.
The narrative immediately switches from “Clarko is a racist shitheel” to “Goodes/Lumumba is a do-gooder snowflake.”
Of course the AFL would prefer it to be silent, but they’ve proven cynical enough to work within that scenario.
In the end, nothing is done.
