I’m not sure that it is actually better than a different brand with similar design. It’s just that the Q is incredibly easy to use, very well made, and gives great results every time. Why would you go past it?
I’m just working out whether it gets better results than a bbq I have already got with a lid, should I be getting a q as well
Sure do!
This is for the meatballs. I obviously substituted for the turkey.
This is the lentils recipe. I used silverbeet because I had that in my garden the leftovers will be used as pie filling.
Had some left over Chicken snags from Summer Fam BBQ’s I had to use, (I don’t generally eat them) so found this and knocked it up tonight.
any gravy?
smaller, so probably heats up quicker. depending on what variant you get, portable.
Thanks for response. I have a bbq that is plumbed into mains gas so I’m gonna keep that, but I’m not sure if there’s any difference that makes the q better
i think you’ve answered your own question.
We had our BBQ run off mains gas, and it is good and we never run out, but it does run cooler than propane or the gas pressure is lower so it does seem to get the same heat.
Do you find that ?
Carrot cake with sultanas and pecans with butter Icing, … with a jar of the Home made Plum Jam in the background, … which went exceptionally well together. (Who would have thought?)
I’m going to try to make some plum jam tomorrow. Friend from Harcourt gave me a big bag of plums from her orchard.
I expect this thread to be quite active over the next 5 days my peeps. Don’t let me down. I’ll be busy going out and about so might not have time to contribute, but someone’s gotta do it.
Snag rolls from this week …
And a Bol sauce I’m simmering for tomorrow night, featuring mates organic Celery & Carrots, my fresh Basil & Oregano, and leaves from next doors Bay tree.
Mama Mia!! Gonna be grand,

Well look at you lording it over the peasants!
We moved into a new house this year and we have a very large kumquat tree.
I’m going to try and make jam as well because what the fark else can you do with a tree full of bloody kumquats.
Anyone got any tips?
Made mine in 2 batches, … the 2nd one I squished the plums post a wash into a bowl, and ditched the ones that were hard, then mixed the sugar in with them and left them macerate together o/nite before cooking up.
Definitely a better result.
Kumquats make an excellent chutney
