COVID-19 Round 14 - tiering into the abyss

Excellent. If only the feds had been setting targets to put some pressure on this whole time…
Also seems like they are opening a couple more drive though sites and opening up AZ to everyone over 18 at all state run hubs as well. Good stuff.

Yes they probably had until about the 28/29 July. If they had tightened then, and taking into account about a 1 week lag for measures to take effect, they could have held the line with contact tracing - barely.

Contact tracing has reached the “completely ineffective” stage now, with 250 of todays cases under investigation. Case load is just too massive.

More fun with numbers.
From 6 daily cases to 117, 111 increase in four weeks.
From 117 daily cases to 211, 94 increase in two weeks.
From 291 daily cases to 390, 99 increase in one week.

Geez you can tell when hazzard is under the pump. He’s like joyce, he’s bright red

I mean, you’d hope not…
What that would suggest doesn’t bear thinking about.

Once all the cricket analogies have been used, whose next, Wilt Chamberlain?

“1 in 100 year virus” repeats Hazzard

“1 in one hundred year storms”

“1 in 100 year bushfires”

“1 in 100 year drought”

New day, same ■■■■

Think I’ve posted this before, just an updated graph, nothing changed from what’s expected though.

And no evidence yet that increasing vax levels are starting to bend the curve downwards - it is still a line!

Anyone at the presser asking where Dr Chant is?

Grand final crowd comparisons.

So how long before someone steps in and takes this over from NSW gov who clearly never had a handle on this? Start nailing doors shut trucks driving down empty streets spraying fog?

LNP outdated, ALP overrated, CCP activated.

Apparently there is no legal framework for intervention.

10 being reported here??

*10 Until 8pm last night, rest of the cases from 8pm to current. Nothing like clarity in reporting. 25 it is.

Are they going to wait till therw are thousands of daily infections and dozens or more deaths a day?

ANNOUNCEment.

wimtracking is closing down.
Because sal has pointed out that its projections are either completely wrong, or they’re way, way, WAY too frightening and depressing to continue with.
Neither of these possibilities are attractive to wimtracking so we’re stopping now.

I was feeling a bit low, so I got out all the tools I have that are destructive. Chainsawed some trees in the backyard, got this neat new blade on my angle grinder that cuts through everything and have remodelled all these bits of metal everywhere. Mrs Fox 3 was p1ssing me off, so I briefly thought about starting on a mod on her Lexus, but sanity prevailed. I then watched Bombers smash Doggies for the third time.

Look after yourself.

Journos so far asking factual Qs at Vic presser, Naomi on top of detail
Rachel must still be warming up
Are supplies still iffy?
-Naomi says usually gets 4 week advice notice from Feds, also Horizon doc , to schedule appointments. Better to book in, some walk ups compromised by social distancing needs.
