COVID-19 Round 14 - tiering into the abyss

ASIO, make yourself useful

Where are the cavalry they dispatched to terrorise the south-west?

Yep. Didn’t realise he was like that. Unfollowed too.

No masks, all packed in there. Not going to be good.

Wonder how many went to the Melbourne one :woman_facepalming:t2:

Does Tik Tok have a code of conduct where he can be banned?

Nah, you just get back to birthin’ that baby

They will exaggerate the numbers. No way 50k at that Sydney one.

15k at most at both I’d say, more like 5-10k in melbs

Getting side effects from jabs are typically a positive. You are wanting an immune response.

I have genuinely lost brain cells reading this post, but I’ll nibble like an idiot.

Taking your numbers at face value, the proportion people who died after catching covid and were unvaccinated is higher than the proportion of people who caught covid and died after being fully vaccinated… so the vaccine works??
That’s without bothering to take into account the fact that vaccination rates are higher among the most vulnerable population.

Not only will there be less people at the Melbourne one, but we have very low cases, and even less not in isolation, so we’d be very unlucky to have infection at our rally.

Sydney, on the other hand, have enough in the wild that if they have anywhere near 50K people, it would be amazing if there weren’t infections at the rally.

5-10k in Melbs is a serious worry.
We are close to having this outbreak done & dusted.
Would they extend lockdown to see what comes of this mass gathering?
Fools.

Something tells me if you’re at the freedom protest, and you think covids not a thing, you won’t bother getting tested.

We all know the answer to that one

I don’t

I reckon there will be cases that arise from today. If there is then it’s hard to see it not being extended.

ATAGI statement

All individuals aged 18 years and above in greater Sydney, including adults under 60 years of age, should strongly consider getting vaccinated with any available vaccine including COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca. This is on the basis of the increasing risk of COVID-19 and ongoing constraints of Comirnaty (Pfizer) supplies. In addition, people in areas where outbreaks are occurring can receive the second dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine 4 to 8 weeks after the first dose, rather than the usual 12 weeks, to bring forward optimal protection.

The whole “Do your own research” is such a fallacy. Proper researchers have years of training, have peer review processes, subject to significant scrutiny. Even if they can get published, if it’s not cited, it falls by the wayside.

It’s not perfect, but it is far ahead of people forming views purely by reading Facebook posts.

That’s a very valid point

Should I go get my first jab again then?

I wonder if someone gets the AZ 2nd dose 4 weeks after the first, if there is value in them getting a 3rd dose 6 months later?

It is Idiocracy manifest
