Will probably jinx myself, but the past month has been the least COVID admissions I can recall since moving to East Gippsland.
Will be curious to see how much of an uptick there is once we get into the heart of winter.
Around this time last year, as an outpatient in some hospital settings and at the GP, mask wearing, social distancing, hand sanitising and in some cases temperature checking, were mandated.
Now, nothing, masks and sanitisers available , few people using them.
We now have an outbreak of sorts on our main ward
No doubt.
One patient came in with COVID last week and now a bunch of staff members have it.
From a selfish POV I’m in a completely unrelated part of the hospital so it should stay away from me!
Aus Government now not recommending covid vaccination for children under 18.
Why not just post the link?
Been in effect since Nov 2024.
And not for boosters unless your 65+ or immunocompromised.
Staff are back to surgical masks (we’ve hit a trigger or either 5x staff members furloughed in a single department or 10x organisation wide).
Not all will be due to COVID though - we’ve been increasingly using extended PCRs which pick up a lot more respiratory viruses than before.
My wife said local hospital quite a few covid patients at the moment, only 1 on her ward though.
